Why you’ll love it
- Stretch it slow, snap it fast, flatten it, ball it up. No wrong way to fidget
- Open-ended play holds restless attention far longer than a single-trick toy
- Soft, smooth and quietly satisfying, with no noise nearby
- Comes in a tin and never dries out, lasts for years
- A genuine focus and stim tool, not a gimmick
- Honest caveat: keep it off fabric and hair, like any putty
A little more calm, up close
Some hands don't want a toy with rules. Calm Putty gives them none. Pull it slow and it stretches like taffy; pull it fast and it snaps clean; press it and it slowly flattens, then you ball it up and start again. There's no right way to fidget with it, which is exactly why it holds restless attention for so long. Your hands keep inventing small games while the rest of you focuses or unwinds. It's soft, smooth and quietly satisfying, with no noise to bother anyone nearby. Keep it in its little tin on the desk; it lasts for years and never dries out. One honest caveat: keep it off fabric and hair, the way you would any putty.
Materials
Non-toxic silicone-based putty in a reusable tin. BPA- and phthalate-free, EN71 tested.
Care
Store in its tin between uses. If it picks up lint, dab it with a fresh piece of putty to lift it off. Keep away from fabric, carpet and hair. Won't dry out, so no water needed.

really good, one small thing
really like this thinking putty — it helps me sit still in meetings. Only thing, mine arrived with a small crease that mostly settled. Still using it daily.

my hands finally relax
Autistic adult here, and finding a stim that's quiet, doesn't wear out, and has no fixed pattern is harder than it sounds. This checks all three. The Peach tin lives by my keyboard and I reach for it without thinking. Smush, pull, repeat. Eleven bucks and it'll outlast a dozen of the dollar-store ones I went through last year.

soft and silent, but it's a lint magnet
No complaints about the actual fidgeting — stretches like taffy when you go slow, cracks when you go fast, and it's genuinely silent so I use it through meetings. The one knock is it grabs dust and pocket fuzz over time. I tossed it in a jacket pocket once without the tin and regretted it. Lift the bits off with a fresh blob like they say and it's fine, just don't expect it to stay pristine on its own.

sits in my therapy bag
Keep a tin in my bag for the waiting room before appointments. Slow stretching gives my hands a job while my head does its thing, and the silence means I'm not disturbing the quiet room. The Lavender is calming just to look at. Bought a second for home.

great squish, hair incident though
Buying for my 7yo who needs to fidget while she does homework and it's been good for that — quiet, open-ended, she invents games with it. Fair warning the caveat in the listing is real: she got a strand in her hair and that was a whole evening with oil and a comb. My fault for not watching. The putty itself is lovely and soft, snaps nicely. Just supervise the little ones.

classroom calm-corner win
I teach 4th grade and put this in our calm-down corner. It's the silent one, which matters when other kids are testing nearby, and there's no single way to play with it so the kids don't fight over a 'right' way. They stretch it, flatten it, make snakes. One rule I learned fast and now post on the wall: keep it off clothes and absolutely out of hair. Otherwise a brilliant addition.

helped me quit the nail biting
Twenty-odd years of biting my nails when I'm tense. I needed my hands occupied with something else and this has honestly done it better than anything — pulling and balling the putty when I'd normally pick at my fingers. Three months and my nails look like an adult's for the first time. The Storm Grey hides any desk grime too which is a nice bonus.

good putty, dried-ish on me
I like the actual putty a lot — the snap when you pull it fast is great and it's genuinely silent. My issue is on me, sort of: I'm bad about closing the tin and after leaving it open on the nightstand for a week or two it got a touch stiffer and less stretchy than day one. Warming it in my hands brings most of it back, but it's not quite the same. Just keep the lid on, I guess. Three stars feels fair for how I treated it.

the ASMR of squishing it
Okay the way it slowly flattens under your thumb and then you pull it back into a string — I could do it for an hour. No sound at all which is funny for something that scratches the ASMR itch so well, it's all texture. Sea Glass for me. Smooth, never sticky in the hand, never greasy. Takes the edge off after a long day.

quiet enough for night shift
Work overnights and needed something to keep my hands going without waking anyone or annoying coworkers at the station. This is dead silent. Stretch it thin, watch it droop, roll it back up. The Peach is a warm pinkish tan. Calm without being a sleep aid, exactly what I wanted.

disappointed. The printed face fades a little with handling, and for me that’s the whole point of the putty. Yours might be fine, mine wasn’t.

lovely, but watch the crumbs
Genuinely soft and the slow stretch is so satisfying. One thing nobody warns you about: after a few weeks at my kitchen desk it had picked up little bits of lint and a couple of crumbs. The care note says dab it with a fresh piece to lift them off and that does work, but it's a bit of upkeep. Still use it daily.

ADHD desk anchor
11pm, three browser tabs of unfinished work, brain bouncing everywhere — this is when the putty earns its keep for me. The pull-snap-smush loop gives the restless part of my head something to do so the rest can actually settle on one thing. I'm an ADHD adult and it's become one part of my toolkit, not a miracle, but a real one. Lasts forever too, no replacing it like the cheap stuff.

best desk fidget I've had
no clicks, no pops, nothing for the open-plan office to complain about. just slow silent stretching while I read. the Lavender one is a gentle purple, not garish. holds my hands for ages because theres no single trick to get bored of — you kind of invent your own little routines.

replaced the phone-in-hand habit
Bought this to stop reaching for my phone every time my brain stalls mid-task. It actually worked better than I thought. Now when I hit a wall I just ball the putty up, flatten it with my thumb, ball it again. The Sea Glass colour is a soft minty green and somehow that makes it nicer to look at on the desk. Two months in and it hasn't dried out or lost any stretch.

the snap is the whole point
Pull it slow and it goes taffy-thin; yank it and it cracks clean in half. I keep doing that one move on calls without thinking. Got the Storm Grey, looks like wet slate in the tin. Quiet enough that nobody on Zoom has any idea my hands are busy the entire meeting.

Questions & answers
4 questions answered by our team and buyers
Ask a questionDoes this genuinely help with ADHD focus, or is it just a toy?
Honest answer: it helps a lot of people, and we won't pretend it's magic. Having something to stretch and squish with your hands can take the edge off restlessness, stress or the urge to fidget, and many of our customers find that genuinely steadying. It is a supportive tool though, not a treatment or a cure. If you're navigating a diagnosis, a professional is the right person to guide that.
Helps me more than I expected. mostly it just gives my hands a better job than picking at my nails.

It's one of our most-gifted toys. If you're not certain they'll bond with this exact one, the Calm Starter Bundle lets them find their own favourite, and everything arrives ready to give.
